The 2012 Kelly Country Classic held Sunday 11November has been hailed as a huge success! The event which supports the fundraising efforts of North East Health Wangaratta was initally cancelled earlier this year only came together 9 weeks before the event.
The event saw a slightly modified ride route with 2 options for riders. A challenging 105km route which meandered through Glenrowan, Winton, Lurg, Myrrhee and Moyhu before finishing back at Sam Miranda King Valley in Oxley. The more gentle option of 55km saw over 80 riders pass Glenrowan, Greta and Moyhu before arriving back at the winery where a relaxing lunch and live music and the famous Prosecco bar awaited them.
Plans are now underway to re-establish the Kelly Country Classic as one of Victoria's premiere recreational cycling events.
