Sam Miranda Petit Manseng 2013
I have been playing around with this variety since 2005 and it has always impressed me with its intensity of flavour and fine natural acidity. The small berries and thick skins add to the complexity of the wine with extended lees contact for 6 months prior to bottling contributing the creamy mouth feel and longevity of flavours on the palate. A unique variety and wine style that is well suited to a wide range of european and asian cuisine.
The fruit was crushed and destemmed, chilled, and the free-run and very gentle juice pressings were separated, settled overnight and the clean juice fermented to dryness in stainless steel, at approximately 12 degrees celsius. The wine was left on lees for 6 months.
A very rare variety that originates from the south west of France.
Sourced from a single vineyard in Myrrhee, a South western branch of the Upper King Valley.
