Sam Miranda Sangiovese Barbera 2014
Soft but firm tannins the wine displays lovely cherry and berry fruit flavours which are enhanced by the gentle use of French oak. The wine finishes with great length. You can certainly enjoy this wine now but it will repay cafeful cellaring for the next 5 - 7 years
Fermented in 3 tonne open fermenters. Hand plunged twice daily and left on skins for a period of 10 days. Gently pressed and racked to 2 – 4 year old French barrels for 12 months prior to bottling.
Grown entirely from fruit at our Myrrhee vineyard a sub branch of the King Valley at an altitude of 390 - 450m above sea level. The blend is approximately 88% Sangiovese and 12% Barbera
